Might be better to find out how to pack people in horizontally - at least we could get some sleep. Author: NewRiverGeorge Not. Amtrak is in the process of retrofitting its cars to add more seats. To do so, of course the spacing and seat back rake angles will have to be tightened up. Fortunately, it may take 10 years or longer to complete the process, and by then there will be changes in management attitude back the other direction to make train travel more comfortable than planes or busses.
