I've been told that the three private cars being used for a Pan-Am Railways trip that went west on #5 on Monday, as seen in the first photo of this thread: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?4,3491187, are now heading back east on Amtrak train #6(14). This California Zephyr is currently nearing Ottumwa, Iowa running just over four hours late.

The private car trackage at Denver is rapidly becoming a major revenue producer for Amtrak. I know of at least 15 private cars that have parked there this summer, producing at least $100,000 in revenue without any incremental costs to Amtrak. No extra crews, no switching, just a bit of extra fuel. Not bad at all!
