Anyone know what happened to 75 today? He lost four hours between Durham and Burlington.

Highway accidents in Mebane have happened before. An NCDOT locomotive was totaled there in 2010. It's a straightaway and one of the few places between Raleigh and Greensboro where passenger trains run through the middle of a town at 70+ mph. Mebane is growing rapidly and NCDOT has a plan to address the problem.

According to the newspaper, the victim was an 80-year-old woman. The account says that she was trapped between the gates. One wonders if it was an accident or a suicide.
