Passenger Trains > amtrak 156 running on the metrolink

Heard that 156 was headend power on a late S/B amtrak toward LAUPT so off I went to chase. 1st &2nd shots are the 156 coming down santa susana pass on the chatsworth side in the overcast.  3rd is shot from Main st in L.A  just north of LAUPT watching the train approach under broadway bridge.

This is not a Metrolink Train but a Amtrak Surfliner.

Is this a normally scheduled Amtrak train? For example, appears there is a Diner or Cross Country Cafe in the consist. How many Superliner/Surfliner cars does this train have? Where did the train originate?

EDIT - Looked like this train had a Superliner Sightseer Lounge from one of the pictures shown but can't say for sure so removed from my original post.

Because of several special events on the Surfliner route. At least two sets operated with  nine cars. A extra business class on both, a cross county on one  to provided extra snack service and overflow coach seating at tables.

With Del Mar Race Track season soon to start, weekend trains will see expanded consists of 7 to 9 cars, yet still have standees.  Not much help until the new cars start delivery in 2017.,

Im guessing Amtrak isn't breaking out another Single Level Set to help during this time?
In years past they operated a second single level set during the Del Mar Seasons
