Train was the VIA Rail Canada "Maple Leaf" which operates between Toronto
and the Canadian-US border as an extension of the Amtrak "Maple Leaf."

Gene's headline makes it sound like a member of the Toronto hockey team (or players pretending to be a hockey team) killed himself. Wouldn't be surprising given their history over the past 49 years! On a serious note, why can't people who want to off themselves find a way to do it that doesn't screw up the lives of others such as the unfortunate train Engineer and passengers who were inconvenienced.

No it does not to me at least.  The hockey team to which you refer is the TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS.  I guessed that as this was posted in the passenger section of trainorders it was referring to the train.

Don't see the connection either, but hey ........

Attempt at humor. The Toronto Maple Leafs' record of futility is exceeded only by the Chicago Cubs, who are poised to either resolve that situation this year or reinforce their leadership in the history of professional sports failure.
