Does anyone have a link to the proposed San Joaquin timetable that includes the 7th train?

Thanks.

Bids for both T&E and OBS crews have been posted in Oakland, service to start 20 June.
Both Comet sets will now be used to cover the new schedules (712/ 717 and 718/ 711).

I found point to point info (ticketing process) on the Amtrak site, but not the printed timetable image.

Is the folder up there, too?

Thanks.

The schedule is in the ticket-purchasing engine, but I could not find a printed timetable. New schedule to take effect on June 20th.

For those who are curious like myself, here are the end-point times. I compared June 15 with June 22 schedules:

Southbounds
_#_   newOKJ  (oldOKJ)   newBFD  (oldBFD)
712   7:35am    ( 7:30)      1:49pm    ( 1:44)
714   9:55am    (10:05)      4:04pm   ( 4:14)
716  12:35pm    ( 1:15)      6:49pm   ( 7:29)
708   2:30pm    ( new )      8:46pm   ( new )
718   5:55pm    ( same)   11:58pm   ( same)

Northbounds
_#_   newBFD  (oldBFD)    newOKJ  (oldOKJ)
709    4:25am   ( new )      10:26am   ( new )
711    8:00am   ( 4:45)        2:10pm   (10:55)
713  10:25am   (10:05)       4:40pm    ( 4:20)
715    1:25pm   ( same)      7:33pm   ( same)
717    3:45pm   ( same)      9:58pm   ( same)

This still does not get business people up to Oakland to start the business day at a usual hour, and I though that was the goal by starting a train early out at either Merced or Fresno.  What happened to that idea?

Oakland is hardly a business destination, and the travel times are too long for the train to be competitive for a same day roundtrip.  The new schedule is helpful for people wanting to get to the Bay Area a bit earlier, but there is a downside:  the very early morning departure times from the lower end of the San Joaquin Valley are less than optimal for overall travel on the new service.  As some have pointed out, however, a broader range of departure times is generally helpful.

Apparently BNSF is not keen on the idea of an even earlier train.

The best idea for an earlier train likely would be a service into Sacramento, where travel times are shorter and thus more competitive, and where there is immediate access to the central city.

In any case, it appears that the devolution of the San Joaquin service from Caltrans to a local agency has worked:  this is the first train service expansion on the roure since 2002.  Caltrans as a manager had become listless and complacent.

I use Amtrak to the Bay Area for same day business and the new schedule helps. There is a need for some out of the box thinking, to include an option using ACE to Santa Clara and San Jose on the first run of the day. The big win that I see with the new schedule is an earlier arrival in Sacramento. Back up the arrival by another hour and my car stays in the garage and is not dodging the trucks on 99.
