Amtrak Regional Train 85(15) with AMTK 130 suffered engine failure
two miles north of Ashland VA.

Silver Meteor, Train 97(15) picked up all of the passengers aboard
85(15) and made Train 85's station stop at Ashland. It also set out
lead unit AMTK 177 there, leaving only trail unit AMTK 135 handling
fifteen cars including five private cars. 1:25 delay.

Train 85's crew ran the AMTK 177 light to their stranded train; it
took the now-deadhead 85(15) to its destination, Richmond VA.

Thank you for this, everyday there seems to be an issue with either train to/from Florida.
#97 is now 4:32 late at Rocky Mount; and it will not make up time - that's a guarantee.
 

Update: the AMTK 130 had an engine room fire.  No visible external damage resulted.

Nobody injured, that's good.
