Passenger Trains > Southern Pacific stub trainDate: 11/30/16 08:54 Southern Pacific stub train Author: 6432 Question. The Southern Pacific ran a stub train from Salt Lake City to Ogden Utah after the Western Pacific discontinued its part of the California Zephyr. It usually used an S.P. FP 7 but I'm not sure which passenger cars were used on this consist. Thank You

Dave Date: 11/30/16 10:04 Re: Southern Pacific stub train Author: WAF It was DRGW, SP just loaned them a FP-7A as their other boiler F unit was used on 17/18

Posted from iPhone Date: 11/30/16 12:26 Re: Southern Pacific stub train Author: hazegray I made the trip from Denver to Oakland with the transfer at Ogden, and -- as noted -- D&RG took 17's partial consist there. As I recall it was a nice, easy across the platform transfer, fairly late in the evening.
Rode in the ex-CZ observation from Denver to SLC. Date: 11/30/16 12:38 Re: Southern Pacific stub train Author: 6432 Can't think of a better car to travel in and the scenery is incredible. Thanks again and if you can remember the other cars on your trip that would be great. Thank you.

I had wanted to try the shower, but it was no longer working. :-( Date: 12/01/16 06:45 Re: Southern Pacific stub train Author: goldcoast With a pair of pliers I was able to get the shower to work.
