Delay enroute caused by a vehicle strike near Redding, resulting in damage to the lead locomotive which subsequently required replacement by a freight motor.

Left Los Angeles on time.  Caught up in the aformentioned mess involving #11 up above.  After that it struck a boulder before arriving in Dunsmuir which disabled the lead locomotive, subsequently requiring replacement by a freight motor.  The train was terminated and turned at Portland for #11.
