CAF plant
Author: retcsxcfm

I did a Bing bird's eye view of the plant
today.I don't know how old/new these shots
are.But there was nothing in sight. Not an
automobile,nor passenger car.
What has happened to the so called "new"
cars? I read a note from Amtrak dated 2013
that said all the cars would be on the
rails by now.
I admit, all the baggage cars are running
and ONE diner.
Some one has to know the answers,I would
like to know where "some" of my tax money
is going.

So you're saying that you looked at aerial photos (online?) that you won't share or link here, and you don't know when they're from? Seems legit.

Here's the Google view - with 29 rail cars in sight. And by close examination they are NOT baggage cars -- various window configurations (see enlarged view)

Thanks,Randy.
As I said, the Bing map has no date.
Yours showing Sept.2016,that is
over six months ago.So where are
these cars?
Does anyone work there?

Bing Birds eye shows the Steel electric class ferries still running in Washington State. They last saw service in 2007.

The Bing aerials at the CAF site are from 2010.

I was looking at Bing maps of Hershey, PA the other day. They showed the Giant Center (arena) still under construction...it opened fifteen years ago in 2002!

It just sucks they're having issues that's delaying Amtrak's order of new passenger cars! Be nice if Amtrak asked Brombadier for new cars, they did a great job with the Superliner IIs!

Bombardier is having similar delays with NYCT's R179 order.

Built in America - appears we have a ways to go in building new passenger cars. Hope these manufacturers can overcome their issues.
