Amtrak CEO chronology
Author: ctillnc

Is this right? I've omitted interims, although in retrospect one might call Moorman a long-term interim. Of these, my sense is that Reistrup and Claytor achieved the most.

2017 Richard Anderson
2016 Wick Moorman
2008 Joe Boardman
2006 Alexander Kummant
2002 David Gunn
1998 George Warrington
1993 Tom Downs
1982 Graham Claytor
1978 Alan Boyd
1975 Paul Reistrup
1971 Roger Lewis

There was somebody there, a caretaker type from the BAR, post-Gunn, pre-Kummant.

Dick will replace Wick after a brief Dick/Wick co-CEO-ship.

"You hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability..."

This Richard Anderson could ACT like an Amtrak CEO... :-)

Mr Anderson having never been a CEO of any type of railroad entity and a CEO who ran NWA into the ground and cut Delta like a skewered pig will be expected to learn 40 years of railroading in the year and a 1/2 during the time that Dick shares with Wick the duties of Amtrak CEO ...

You just answered it. I don't think railroad experience is relevant in this situation. When you plan to make drastic cuts, too much knowledge could be a hindrance. His having very few friends in the industry will actually help in making the cuts, since that minimizes the possibility of favoritism.

I'm surprised all this isn't crystal clear.

I worked for Amtrak during the era of Roger Lewis through David Gunn.

If I recall, Alan Boyd was the president who started the project to begin the 480 volt HEP conversion era with Heritage Equipment and the eventual retirement for steam heated trains.

This Mr. Anderson could also run Amtrak. Especially as Neo.

Judging Mr. Andiron's Past I think we need to reserve judgment on him until we see his performance.
At Delta I found that he was a great man who kept the customer service.
I am very proud to see this come to Amtrak.
