"Barreling Through Fonda" Amtrak No. 49

Here's Amtrak No. 49, the westbound Lake Shore Limited, passing through the historic Mohawk Valley community of Fonda, NY just before sunset last night.

Interestingly, the railroad was completed in 1835, and, as such, is one year older than the courthouse featured in the video.

FJ&G right of way can still be seen, but its tough during the summer jungle season.  Some of the interchange track is still there, back in the sumac between route 5 and the CSX main.
