Summer Train Fest -- Los Angeles
Author: WP17

I'm in Los Angeles this weekend and here are a few shots from this afternoon's display of cars and locomotives at LAUPT (some of us will always remember Union Station that way)
Incidentally crowds were huge -- when I left at around 1pm the line to see the display stretched all the way back through the tunnel almost into the station itself.

#1: The poster for the display
#2: Metrolink newest power as well as a Santa Fe veteran (celebrating her 90th birthday this year)
#3: The tail end of the passenger equipment on display. Norm's Tioga Pass had the honors of being the tail car. It was the car that visitors first boarded. Other cars included National Forum, Overland Trail, and Pacific Trail, as well as three Amtrak cars.

#4: A closer look at Merolink's F125 locomotive. I find I like its looks a bit better than its competition. But of course it's nothing like its predecessor E and F units
#5: Nice to see an EMD builder's plate on the locomotive.

And finally a couple of views of the 3751

#6: The classic builder's photo before the crowds started to surround the locomotive.
#7: A nose shot

I take it that the 3751 was cold?

No, 3751 was HOT all day.
They blew the whistle for the KTLA Channel -5 newscast in the morning.

Was Metrolink 911 connected to shore power?

Power cables (somewhat visible in the photos) were connected. I assume power was on
