Passenger Trains > Metrolink F125 #908 in Irvine, CA

Out and about today and noticed the F125 test train in the hole just South of the Irvine station. Managed to grab a few photos (off of railroad property, of course). They had a security guard posted just out of the frame of the first photo keeping a watchful eye...

All they had to do was to match the paint scheme to what the new cars have, but nooo, they can't do that!

This is an EMD product right? But they didn't use the tried and true Blomberg (sp?) truck? Maybe because of the disc brakes.

Euro styling wows the transit planners and the focus groups, but makes me yawn.

It's all crap now.

When was the last time EMD produced a unit that used a Blomberg truck?

I never thought that there would be a worse looking loco than a Genesis, then this ugly bug comes down the track!

What's going to happen when they hit a tractor trailer with all that glass up front and not much of a hood, especially a load of pipes or telephone poles.

When was the last time you saw a Blomberg truck run at 125+ mph, and not not hunt violently???
