Don't miss the surprise cameo appearance at the end of this video of number 8 departing Whitefish, Montana with five private cars this morning.

By the time I realized I wanted to shoot video of this train, it was too late to hike back to the car to fetch a tripod. So I did the next best thing — propped my iPhone up against a fence post for a ground-level video.

Ha! You're lucky the camera didn't get crushed!

Nice video. The cars seem to be unoccupied.... The cars are the MKT 403, Southern 1, St. Croix Valley, Passenger Support Car, Bella Vista. I wonder if they intend to go back to Florida or maybe stay in Chicago or Washington until things settle down with Irma?

Cool angle, and the baggage carts at the end qualifies for your usual Amtrak worker shot!

The last shot reminds me of the engine derailing in the movie "The Train."

Man...the Flat Wheel Express.
How did you set up that ending starring the Baggage Geek?

Excellent!

That baggage car in solid paint, those trucks say "ex Canadian National"! I wonder if indeed that is the heritage?
