Passenger Trains > Carolinian 79(15) SNAFUDate: 09/16/17 21:39 Carolinian 79(15) SNAFU Author: GenePoon STATE OF GOOD REPAIR:
79(15) with AMTK 151 crapped out at Selma NC It sat from 444pm until 812pm, moved a few miles and stopped again for an hour or so. It finally made Raleigh at 1120pm (vs. scheduled 520pm). The bedraggled train limped into Charlotte at 231am (vs. scheduled 844pm), by which time just about everybody had had it with Amtrak. Railfans who say, "The more time on the train, the better" are excluded. 80(16) initial terminal departure was 2 hr 42 min late account mandatory crew rest. It had the AMTK 20, set out from the southbound Crescent.
