The Secret Life of Joe Boardman
Author: mt-king

Joe Boardman has shown his cards-HE STILL CARES!!!! He still cares about you. He still cares about LD trains. He still cares about a national network. While he was president he cared about excursions, he cared about RPCA, he cared about AAPRCO, he cared about rare mileage, he cared about increasing national ridership throughout the country and he most likely still does. He rode trains.

He could be the face and voice of the pushback against the Anderson Plan.

A couple of thousand people read the TO posts about the "new" AMTRAK. How about more people not only read but comment.

Does he want his old job back?

Personally, I think that Boardman should crawl into a hole. This sort of public dispute between a current CEO and a former has the potential for causing people to say "to hell with this mess." With this confrontation, Anderson is less likely to change his mind.

Just my opinion.

Jack

Sorry. This is not about Boardman returning as Amtrak President. He won't be doing that but he could be spokesman/lobbyist for an alliance of LD train supporters, steam fans, private car owners and their customers. John Madden doesn't ride trains anymore and Graham Claytor is dead.

I do not know what is in his mind, but I do not think that he is helpful for the cause now in a public role. His time has come and gone.

By speaking out now, he likely does more harm than good. He needs to butt out.

Just my opinion. Others may vary.

My hope is that the Media hears about Boardman and think they might have a hot story.

I wish he were on TV every night being interviewed, and shinning a white hot spotlight on the damage Anderson has done--and intends to do to Amtrak.

Joe Boardman is now a private citizen and should work on organizing whatever causes he likes.

I fully agree and would like to see Mr. Boardman share some ideas. Amtrak supporters definitely need an experienced railroader to assess the issues and serve as a spokesperson.

That’s all I could think of reading this thread. TO’s had a strong dislike of this guy not too long ago. Crazy
