Author: kevink

Amtrak train 371, aka the Pere Marquette, arrived in Chicago on 9/16/18 with two firsts:
IDTX 4601, the first SC-44 Charger in the IDOT order for the Midwest services
AMTK 90200 - Amtrak's first F40PH #200 whichwas converted to a Non-Powered Cab Unit
Seen here as the Pere Marquette backs under 18th Street in Chicago after its morning run from Grand Rapids.

Are those wi-fi antennas on the roof of the Superliner snack coach?  And the rear truck of the cabbage has an extra metal thing hanging down?

Excellent photos! I remember this area when it had a gritty industrial feel to it...

I'm not worried about strollers, it the bikes that you gotta' watch out for. Especially the wrong-way riders in the directional bike lanes.
And there's still some grit around. I see folks from the Pacific Gardens Mission on Canal on occasion as well as the occasional train hopper.

It usually has a snack bar in the lower level of the car that also has business class seating. I do not recall seeing any cafe-type seating from my August trip to St. Joe.

That’s 35004, one of the dreaded “Panic Box” cafe/coach conversions.
SR.

(Dreaded by LSA’s. Passengers generally rate them “unfortunate”)
