FL: Virgin Rail (US) colors to change
Author: Lackawanna484

A senior executive of Virgin Rail US / Brightline has confirmed the rainbow of colors used on BrightLine will change "by the end of the year".  So, the yellow splashes in the station, the yellow, pink etc rail cars etc will become something else.

So, get those pictures while you can.  And, while the snowbirds are gone...

Deep down in this article about rebranding:  https://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/20190426/fascinating-rebranding-strategies-behind-new-names-rosemary-square-lake-worth-beach-and-others?utm_source=SFMC&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=The%20Palm%20Beach%20Post%20wpb_content-general%202019-04-27&utm_content=GCOX_WPB&utm_term=042719

I'm actually looking forward to Virgin Red, I never really like the "Heart Rate Monitor" paint scheme!

You mean "Virgin Trains USA". At least that is the official name that they go by. This is sort of in line with Virgin Trains in UK I suppose, including VTEC (Virgin Trains East Coast) as long as they had it.

Incidentally, even before the Virgin deal, Brightline planned to move away from multi-colored consists to single standard livery for all consists, when they grew to their full complement of consists for operations to Orlando. This was mentioned by Patrick Goddard at last year's FECRS Annual Conference way before there was any Virign in the picture.

Thanks.

I figured the unique colors would be history pretty quickly.  The very idea limits flexibility, and if they ever have capacity issues, this limits their ability to have a long set and a short set by adding a car to an existing set.

Any idea on when they begin repainting?

The article specifically mentions yellow as on its way out. I hope Virgin will at least find a way to keep a splash of classical Florida colors in the scheme.

Maybe a little turquoise, too.

Since I like the ridiculous livery on the British Virgin Trains, even less than the not so great service on them that is conidered to be so great by some, I doubt that I will like anything that resmbles that livery in the US either. Good thing that at least VTEC is gone for good. :D

I hope Brightline does not lower its service standards to meet up with Virgin Trains in the UK.
