Surfliners Meet at Sunset
Author: suvart

A late 796 meets an originally on time but now late 777 at Gaviota on the UP Coastline. It always amazes me how much time trains lose in the TWC territory west of Ellwood. 777 departed Goleta on time, and arrived into Surf 40 minutes late.

How much of the SP Coastline is still TWC?   Why hasn't the State of California spent the money to modernize the signal system?

Ellwood to SLO, and Santa MArgarita to Salinas is TWC.  Safetrans signals installed years ago., but not CTC  Its about 225 miles of the coast

That is one nice video!  It has been a long time since I rode Amtrak on the LA-SD service.  Got to do it again sometime
