Passenger Trains > another surfliner painted F-40Date: 03/13/01 19:31 another surfliner painted F-40 Author: tmc1 I was playing around the redondo amtrak building (whatever they call it)and noticed another repainted F-40 in surfliner paint, it was the 381. This makes the averages better I can see one on the point (YA RIGHT).

Other F-40s sitting on the far whisker tracks close to the future invisible Redondo tower 297, 353 and one other. Date: 03/14/01 23:19 RE: another surfliner painted F-40 Author: Evan_Werkema TopcoatSmith wrote:

Have they done anything with 353 since its nasty encounter with the house up in Washington? Date: 03/14/01 23:56 RE: another surfliner painted F-40 Author: TopcoatSmith Doesn't look any different than the others, the house incident was so long ago that any damage has been repaired and is un-notable unless you look it over with a fine-toothed comb....
Needs paint, Smurfliner or Shamu will do. Date: 03/15/01 15:56 RE: another surfliner painted F-40 Author: Evan_Werkema TopcoatSmith wrote:

That's mainly what I was wondering. I never got a good idea of how much damage the unit received, and wasn't sure whether they were planning to repair it or shove it off into the weeds to rust in pieces.
