Passenger Trains > Metrolink ride LA to Oxnard in June 2000Date: 03/20/20 08:32 Metrolink ride LA to Oxnard in June 2000 Author: AndyBrown In June 2000 we visited Mrs. Brown's aunt in Oxnard and got some railfanning done too. The video starts with some UP switching in Oxnard but the bulk of it is a Metrolink trip from LA back to Oxnard after we visited the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Then a UP freight and Coast Starlight east of Oxnard. June 16, 2000.

I worked at Oxnard and Gemco over the years.. Amazing to see the history of 20 years ago and how it's all changed. Especially Taylor Yard every structure has been leveled after video was shot. The track configurations have changed. Through trains not longer run on the coast line except for the Guadalupe turn. Thanks for posting...

Agree, so much has changed. Take care, Northridge Switcher Date: 03/21/20 07:46 Re: Metrolink ride LA to Oxnard in June 2000 Author: webmaster When I drove by Oxnard yard last fall it was empty. At some point I could see UP pulling up the yard tracks. I assume the only business are auto carriers coming off the Ventura County Railway.

Oxnard still receives cars for Proctor and Gamble, Somis lumber, International paper, Spears, and interchange cars destined for the Ventura County. Posted from Android |
