Passenger Trains > Fare Discount for MNR Intra-NYC Travel

Next month, passengers who are traveling on MNR trains within the NYC limits will be able to have a fare discount during the week from what the present fares are. Eventually, the fare for intra-NYC travel on MNR could be dropped a lot further to match the NYC subway fare. This is a great idea. Sections like Riverdale where many people take MNR into the city-the ride on Metro North is faster than riding the subway. Because the fares on MNR are more expensive during rush hours and other times of the week over weekends is an indicator that says MNR doesn't want people using their trains from the Bronx to Manhattan and vice versa during rush hour. That should not be the case.
