Passenger Trains > Auto Trains for 3-30 and 3-31 cancelled, also April 1 (edit)

This was just posted on the Amtrak long distance Twitter alerts.  It could be operational or virus related, or someting else.

SERVICE ADVISORY: Auto Train 52 / 53 scheduled to depart Sanford (SFA) / Lorton (LOR) on 3/30 and 3/31 are cancelled.

Prolly has something to do with (a) auto racks on their sides: (b) COVID-19 impacting crews.

Certainly could be, but both 52 and 53 just left a few minutes late, a little after 4 PM, so they are running today.

But Transitdocs shows 52 heading Southeast toward Orlando.  Detouring?

52 May be detouring via Ocala up to Jacksonville.

Looks like it's going to use the S-Line (Wildwood, Ocala, Waldo). A video on Facebook showed train running in reverse with one motor, autoracks, passenger cars, and 2 locomotives at the rear. 

Last trace is at Dade City at 58mph.

52(29) in Jacksonville at 1130pm.  ETA Lorton 3 1/2 hours late.

The train went through Ashland Va about an hour ago with 17 passenger cars and 21 auto-carriers.  No unit on the back end of the train as they was cut off before the reroute through Ocala.

 

Does anyone have any reliable information as to why they were annulled?  Any report as to what's going on at the wreck site?
