Was there a reason given?

Not Metra specific, but is this a clever way to transition from the increasing scepticism about whether the lockdown was needed?  Get us to fight amongst ourselves.

Instead of cancelling all Metra services, they should have put a team of two National Guardsmen on each trainset and run a modified Sunday schedule every three hours as opposed to every two hours.  At least we'd have an option for transport downtown if needed. Metra: ever try to drive from Glenview, Naperville or Downers Grove to the loop at 5 or 6am?

Back in the day, Metra had select police patrol certain trains after football and basketball games.  Such a plan worked out fine.  No fights, no drunken BS, no games.  People were able to get to their appointments or travel home after a dinner date downtown.

The scale of this weekend's activities was much larger than a football or basketball game - and the problem was bigger than Metra. I was surprised to see Monday cancelled in advance, but Metra needs to protect the equiment so they can use it another day.

Your complete lack of understanding of what is going on and what is at stake precedes you.
