Passenger Trains > Amtrak 29 with 6 cars today!Date: 01/27/22 05:03 Amtrak 29 with 6 cars today! Author: JPB For the past few weeks since the holidays, Amtrak's Capitol Ltd has been regularly restricted to 4 cars but on Thursday 1/27/22 westbound #29 departs Elkhart about 10 minutes late with 6 cars. I think the first 4 cars in the consist from front to back are the standard Capitol Ltd sleeper-diner-coach-coach arrangement. As the 5th car is sleeper 32502 and the 6th car appears to be a diner, I'm guessing these last 2 cars are deadheads.

The window configuration says it is NOT a 370xx Cross Country Cafe. The Auto Train lounges look just like standard diners so the only way we'll know for sure is with a car number. There is another camera mounted on the south side of the tracks. And I was able to see one of the windows on the other side of the car. That was patched up DevalDragon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > jp1822 Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > The last car looks like its a Superliner Cross > > Country Cafe (37000 series), or perhaps even > one > > of the special lounges converted from a > Superliner > > I Diner..... > > > The window configuration says it is NOT a 370xx > Cross Country Cafe.
