Charging Through The Snow

Amtrak charger 303 leads the Empire Builder through the snow into the West Portal of the Cascade Tunnel at Scenic last night.

It's not the snow that's the problem, it's the extreme cold, can't wait till next winter to see if they actually got that working right, no wonder the F40s lasted as long as they did on 7 and 8 because they could handle those extreme temps working the Builder!

Considering that they haven't even delivered a dozen units yet, it might be awhile.

And then we see those nicely-maintained  CSX F40s on their Derby Train and wonder why Amtrak . . . Oh never mind.

Thing about those CSX F40s is their recent paint job, can't get any better than that, those engines look sharp!
