Intersting, only thing that makes me so pissed now is how they're using the saftey word to cancel trains when snow shows up and the snow's not that bad!

Just another fluff article by a chick that wants to say look at me, I'm somebody, i have a blog and want my 15 minutes of fame. These people don't even go after facts, they just push their opinion.

Allie and her husband Rob post frequent Amtrak videos on their YouTube channel.  They are full of inaccurate information, as well as a few useful things.  There are much better Amtrak YouTube reviews out there.

The article is light on substance and yes, it's subjective. What in her article is factually incorrect?

It's not that she's incorrect, its just an opinion based ramble just about anyone who was been on Amtrak could have written the same thing. I for one am not a believer that Amtrak has all the plain clothed people on board when they can't even staff the dinner, maybe at one time. But she did manage to get several pictures of herself posted. My point is it was more a vehicle for look at me than anything else.

Appears to be ghost written by an Amtrak employee.. I guess they missed the fact that there have been recent shootings in Tucson and Independence...

That's true.  Many Trainorders members, including me, could have written a similar article.  But we didn't and she did.

That's overly cynical.  I didn't see it that way.  However, if you want to think the worst of people, that's your choice.

Agree.
I especially enjoyed the paragraph about the "gate agent"
who may help you get an assigned seat on a train.

Nothing about possible concerns waiting for a train at an
unstaffed station in the middle of the night. 

One of the primary safety concerns is their operating environment.
That being the the freight world- where a mainline switch being left open by a negligent conductor caused a head on collision to occur & bad track conditions allowed a passenger train to fall on its side has recently happened.
