Passenger Trains > Another News article on the LA-LV TrainDate: 08/02/22 00:14 Another News article on the LA-LV Train Author: GP25 I saw this news article on facebook.
Just bring back the Desert Wind. Would be the fastest way to create something LA-LV Train may happen one day? Jerry Martin Los Angeles, CA Central Coast Railroad Festival Date: 08/02/22 01:29 Re: Another News article on the LA-LV Train Author: norm1153 Electrified? Wow. Gotta think a bit about that.
Date: 08/02/22 07:38 Re: Another News article on the LA-LV Train Author: pdt If they are laying new track in Fla, i dont see why they cant do it in CA/NV. RE sales is part of the mix...
And now the plan is to have the train have LA terminal in the LA basin? Never saw any other info on that before. So with a real LA terminal and the high price of gas....maybe this will actually happen . I know, we've been hearing this for 50 years. But this is a real plan...and a whole lot better than the once a day, 40mph desert wind. Date: 08/02/22 07:45 Re: Another News article on the LA-LV Train Author: goduckies norm1153 Wrote:

Basically, a 186-200mph electrified system with a cost of $8.8 billion, supposedly the equipment will be Siemens Velaro, which will be built in Sacramento, CA. The plan is to run from Rancho Cucamonga, CA at the Metrolink station, with a stop in Apple Valley (Victorville) to Las Vegas, NV between I-15 and Las Vegas Blvd S and West Warm Springs Rd and Blue Diamond Rd. Brightline has already hinted they will continue into LAUS if CalHSR does not along their (CaHSR) existing corridor, along with other potential extensions. This is too hard for Amtrak to figure out? Ppl will pay for comfort and convenience. And if the price is the same as gas and parking, its a no brainer. Amtk, unfortunately, has a deaf ear to what the public wants, outside of Maine to VA. Amtk's mission has just been "maintain the status quo".. And right now they cant even do that... IMHO Date: 08/03/22 21:49 Re: Another News article on the LA-LV Train Author: ProAmtrak Where's Amtrak 35 and 36 when we need it! All these proposals since the Wind got axed have been a waste!

If it was still running today. Instead of one train. We could of had a couple of LA-LV/Desert Wind trains making the run.
