Passenger Trains > Unforeseen Mechanical IssuesDate: 01/24/23 18:54 Unforeseen Mechanical Issues Author: Tominde Per Amtrak Tweet:
Cardinal Train 50, which departs Chicago (CHI) on 1/24, is at risk for a delayed departure due to an unforeseen mechanical issue. We will provide updates as information becomes available. Most Amtrak alerts are simply mechanical issues. Train 50 was unforeseen issues. Does that mean that Amtrak sees the other mechanical issues coming down? ;>) In fairness, the train 50 unforeseen mechanical only delayed departure 10 min. Also: Is therre any hidden code or meaning in equipment issues and mechanical issues? Date: 01/24/23 20:06 Re: Unforeseen Mechanical Issues Author: sethamtrak Once in a blue moon they will say "engine issues" too. Sadly it all falls under mechanical so when they don't specify, we are left guessing.

It seems to take them by surprise every year. Date: 01/26/23 13:49 Re: Unforeseen Mechanical Issues Author: Lackawanna484 Most switch heater propane tanks get filled every year. Winter can't be too much of a surprise.
