Passenger Trains > Hiawatha Trains Off Schedule this Afternoon

I photographed on-time Hiawatha Service Train 334 at Sturtevant this morning (first photo).  I was surprised to see a P42 leading.  334 turns at Chicago to become 335.  335 arrived Milwaukee 34 minutes late where it becomes 338.

338 departed Milwaukee 21 minutes late and was 1 hour 8 minutes late at Somers, WI (2nd photo).  Amtrak alerts said it was a combination of mechanical and signal problems.

338 turns at Chicago to become 339 which departed 57 minutes late, was 1 hour 23 minutes late at Sturtevant and arrived Milwaukee 1 hour 18 late.

339 turns at Milwaukee to become 342 - departed Milwaukee 35 minutes late.

Keep in mind these are 85 mile corridor runs scheduled for 1 hour 30 minutes.

I hear there is some kind of SC44 "Amtrak Midwest" charger shortage going on and there were working chargers to replace the cabbage so 61 was called to duty. 

Easy to see how one delay can cause a ripple effect in the rest of the days Hiawatha runs. 

The suits, I'm not sure how many there are these days, will abandon Amtrak if they are delayed that long on #339.
This is something unheard of back not too long ago!  It's just chasing off more customers!
