I see 11(13) sat in Portland yesterday for 4 hours. Anyone know the scoop?

Not sure about that one, but 14 (12) was delayed due to AMTK 325 collapsing. Freight engine attached.

They hit an unsecured container door on a passing BNSF stack train on the Seattle sub at MP 9.6. Shattered the fireman's side window on lead Charger #304. The delay in Portland was figuring out what to do and then getting a UP engine (UP 5305) to lead the train south to Oakland where Charger #307 was added and the UP engine was taken off. Attached photo of the damage from hitting the container door.

I had the bird in the sky at Centralia hoping to shoot Amtrak P42 #7 leading #11, as it led #14 thru town the night before. Instead, I got Amtrak ALC-42 #304 with its dreams shattered.

Wow, I have never seen a railroad engine collapse. Pictures? That should be one for the record books.

Thanks for the photo, Drew.  Having finished running the Washington Park & Zoo Railway train for the day, on my way home I drove for several miles on OR 99E beside #11 between Oregon City and Canby.  I think it was around 7:15 and I was wondering why it was so late.

How wonder how much damage must be done to annul a locomotive on Amtrak.   Obviously, if both windshields are fractured, the locomotive is pulled.  But how about if one of the two headlights is fractured?  Or if the horn is rendered inoperative?

What else might be included on the list of items that generate a "No-Go" ruling?
