Passenger Trains > METRA Switch EnginesDate: 01/13/05 19:34 METRA Switch Engines Author: goalco Can someone please tell me what METRA uses for switching? Do they have any SW-1's? Thanks
Date: 01/13/05 20:01 Re: METRA Switch Engines Author: bnsfsd70 This is off the top of my head, but the last I knew, they had two SW1's (one was originally RI), and 4 SW1500's (I believe two of these were SP). There are online rosters, so those can help. They also use a CNW/UP geep at NW Station often to switch cars out, and back to the yard. Hope this helps, Jeff

Date: 01/14/05 06:40 Re: METRA M-O-W equipment Author: kevink I believe these are rebuilt from Canadian ore cars from CN and Algoma Central. There are at least different versions that I assume came from different sources. Metra also lease CRDX ballast cars also of Canadian origin.
See the following post for some shots of a Metra ballast train I saw earlier this year. http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?4,817032,817032#msg-817032 Date: 01/16/05 17:44 Re: METRA M-O-W equipment Author: TopcoatSmith BRC and WC have/had similar ballast cars.
