Hi all,

Well it has been a while but I have made it back again after another busy period and spent a lot of time looking over the various discussions and looking at all the great stuff posted here. So here are some down under shots from the last couple of months. All are in South Australia unless otherwise noted.

1. 1124 empty grain train waits to depart from Viterra Outer Harbor with 2210, GWU007 on 12/3/14.

2. PN service 6MP5 rounds the curve at Yantaringa behind NR62, NR104, AN11 in foggy conditions on 12/6/14.

3. The same train at Lynton.

1. 2MP9 SCT service waits in the siding at Great Western in Victoria hauled by SCT005, SCT006, CSR006 on 12/9/14.

2 & 3. 2210 and 2212 assist loading a grain train at Karoonda on 12/11/14.

1. 1281 empty grain to Tailem Bend waits in the loop at Mile End with FQ03, CLP14, GWU006 up front on 12/15/14.

2. PN steel service 2MX2 arrives into the siding at Two Wells behind NR12, NR7 on 12/16/14.

3. GWA loaded grain, 4152 from Bowmans waits in Dry Creek North yard behind triple bulldogs - GM43, GM40, GM47 on 12/16/14.

Next lot.

1. After unloading their train, ALF24, GM42, GM43 wait to depart from Viterra Outer Harbor on 12/20/14.

2. Rolling down the 2.1% grade at Lynton is GWA loaded grain, 3142 from Loxton hauled by 2216, 2210, GM38, GM47 on 12/21/14.

3. 1281 empty Tailem Bend grain waits to depart from Dry Creek North with FQ02, ALF21, GWU005 on 12/22/14.

1. Night view of the cab on FQ02.

2. The same train at Tailem Bend after running around and setting up for loading on 12/22/14. We sat ready like this for over two hours.

3. 1281 loads at Tailem Bend on 12/28/14 behind the all EMD combo of FQ02, ALF20, CLP8, GM40, FQ03.

1. 2182 loade grain from Tailem Bend climbs the grade at Yantaringa behind FQ03, GM40, CLP8, ALF20, FQ02 on 12/28/14.

2. The same train climbing the 2.2% grade at Mt. Lofty.

3. And again under dynamic brakes at Eden Hills.

Next lot.

All three are of 4104 loaded grain from Crystal Brook hauled by GM47 and GM37 as it waits to unload at Viterra Outer Harbor on 1/5/15.

Next lot.

1.In less than favorable conditions, 2182 loaded grain from Tailem Bend climbs upgrade at Yantaringa hauled by FQ02, GM40, CLF6, CLP16, ALF22 on 1/10/15.

2. The same train nears the top of the grade at Mt. Lofty.

3. Then again heading downgrade through Lynton.

Next lot.

1. Stored and stripped Clyde/EMD A16C, GM34 at the Dry Creek MPC on 1/10/15. The unit will be further stripped of parts and scrapped soon. Sister unit, GM32 was sent to scrap just before Christmas.

2 & 3. The stripped cab interior of GM34.

2. The same train at Yantaringa.

1. 2182 rolls downgrade at Clapham.

2. FQ02, CLF6, CLP14, CLF5 assist in loading their train at Tailem Bend on 1/13/15.

3. Soon to be retired Adelaide Metro 2000 series DMU railcars - 2003, 2116, 2012, 2117 pass through Torrens Jct on with an up service from Gawler on 1/15/15. These diesel hydraulic railcars were built in the early 80's with 12 power cars 2001-2012 and 18 trailers, 2101-2118.

Next lot.

1. 2109, 2010, 2006, 2112 make up a down service to Gawler at Torrens Jct on 1/15/15.

2. 2117, 2012, 2116, 2003 work another down Gawler service at Torrens Jct as they pass some 3000 and 3100 series DMU's on 1/15/15.

3. 3000 series DMU, 3009 works an up service from Grange at Brompton on 1/15/15. These diesel electric railcars entered service between 1987 and 1996.

Next lot.

1. National Railway Museum of Port Adelaide locomotive, 801 heads light engine towards Adelaide at Brompton on 1/15/15. The locomotive was heading to the Dry Creek MPC so it could be turned on the turntable there. 801 was built for the South Australian Railways in 1956 by English Electric at Rocklea in Queensland and was retired by Australian National in 1991.

3. 2112, 2006, 2010, 2109 work an up service from Gawler Central at Dudley Park on 1/15/15.

1. CLP14, CLF5 wait to depart from Viterra Outer Harbor with an empty grain movement back to Dry Creek on 1/16/15.

2. CLF5, CLP14 wait in the siding at Nantawarra with 5114 loaded grain from Gladstone on 1/17/15.

3. 5PM9 SCT service with SCT014, SCT001, SCT015 waits at Keith on 1/25/15.

1. GWA intermodal service, 3AD1 waits in the siding at Pimba just before sunrise with GWU001, ALF22 on 1/28/15.

2. 6DA2 waits at Cadney Park with ALF22, GWU001 on 1/31/15.

3. Under nearly a full moon, 6DA2 waits in the siding at Winninowie behind ALF22, GWU001 in the early hours of 2/1/15.

1. CLP16 with ALF24 out of view sit under the grain loading bins at Gladstone on 2/5/15.

2 & 3. Aurizon intermodal service, 3PM1 passes through Glenalta on 2/5/15 with 6022, 6006, X53, 2210.

And lastly we have 1281 empty grain to Tailem Bend hauled by CLP8, CLF6, ALF24, CLP16, FQ02 as it passes through Hawthorn on 2/8/15.
