International Railroad Discussion > Part 2 -- KaruizawaDate: 03/22/16 03:13 Part 2 -- Karuizawa Author: Railpax71 The old station at Karuizawa houses a museum. This was also the starting point of the 762 mm gauge Kusukaru Railway which ran 55 kilometers to the onsen resort of Kusatsu. Kusukaru used mining locomotives produced by the Jefrey Manufacturing company. One is preserved here under glass.
Unfortunately we could not visit the museum or the rolling stock displayed. Yesterday, March 21 was a holiday. The museum is closed after a holiday! Back again sometime. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/22/16 03:37 by Railpax71. |
