Hi, Vale mining ordered more seven ES58ACi to GE, but this time the units are been made in GE factory here in Brazil. They are been delived by truck to EFC railroad since there isn't broad gauge connection to that railroad. The shortest way could be send them by truck to Anapolis, GO, near Brasilia, and then take VLI tracks of FNS railroad, but Vale selected to sent them direct to EFC shops in Sao Luis, MA.
Vale also tested a template to sent them by tracks to Rio de Janeiro port using MRS railroad , but the template revealed they could hit some station roofs, bridges and tunnels on MRS tracks, so the truck was chosen as a best choice.

Cool pics, Pedro. What was the approx weight of this load and what was the distance of this transport? I tried to determine the origin and destination but I am too unfamiliar with Brazil. 

Thanks for the pictures. The highway bridges must be very strong, too. Lots of weight.

Pedro has posted many pictures of engines being trucked in Brazil.  Trucking business must be very good.

Lots of weight yes, but with many axles to spread it out. 

Hi, the builder's plate says they weight 196 tons. I do not know if this is the empty weight or not (with full diesel, water and oil).
The distance is about 2,536km as we can see in the pic below.

Wow, never would have thought the distance was that enormous for trucking something that massive. That must be a long and tedious trip.
