Rush Hour in Cairo, Egypt

A morning commuter train arrives at Cairo's Ramses station.  Jan 9, 1985.  This was on a cool winter morning.  I can't imagine what it would be like in mid-summer.  The loco is an EMD G22,  thanks to GN1969 for the correction..  I rode a couple of these trains midday, and they were crowded even then.

Clearly no social distancing then but at least they are outside in a lot of moving air:-).

Guy in front looks to be calling signals for the engineer in the right-hand seat.
