#1: An XPT arriving in Sydney (11/28/87) #2: TransAustralian departing Adelaide (12/2/87). The TransAustralian was the 4th weekly service to Perth originating in Adelaide. #3: An suburban train leaving Freemantle for Perth. The shot at Cairns is unrecognizable compared to today where the 'station' appears to have been swallowed by a parking garage behind a shopping mall. And the Sunlander no longer runs replaced by the Spirit of Queensland, a diesel tilt train that runs five days a week. Cairns is also served by the twice-daily Kuranda Scenic tourist trains and the once-per-week Savannahlander to Forsayth (in season).
