International Railroad Discussion > Steam freight on standard gauge in BosniaDate: 10/10/21 06:11 Steam freight on standard gauge in Bosnia Author: LTCerny Reports of a September 2021 visit to Bosnia document steam-hauled coal trains of the Kreka Coal Mine Administration. Their operatonal roster is three 2-10-0's, with two more under repair. This is likely the last regular service standard gauge steam freight operation in Europe.

Here's a photo from a 2017 tour. Trains were running if we were there or not, but we did pay and get permission to get them out of the mines and onto the main lines. Bosnia also makes a great tourist destination with lots of historic sights and small Mediterranean coast at Neum.
