Railfan Technology > Radio Shack PRO-97Date: 12/07/05 11:00 Radio Shack PRO-97 Author: pepperidge Radio Shack has the PRO-97 on sale for $149.95. I picked one up yesterday. While it is more sensitive than my other RS scanners, it also has much greater selectivity and I don't have any problems with overloading from NOAA weather radio or pagers.
If you are interested, it has 1000 channel capacity in case you want to listen to something besides trains. I plugged in the 100 AAR channels and lock out the ones I don't need, depending on where I want to railfan. Most police and fire are already pre-programmed.
