Digital Camcorder Suggestions?

Looking to spend between 500-600 bucks for a digital camcorder primarily for videoing trains. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

With that price range you may either see if you can track down a good deal on something like the Canon G10 refurbished/used or get a low to mid-range DSLR and a couple of lenses. Canon has their Cyber Monday sale going on and a Refurbished EOS SL1 DSLR + 18-55mm IS STM kit lens is $349.99 + tax or body only for $299.99 + tax.

Canon's STM lenses provide quiet focusing during video. I'm not certain if other camera/lens manufacturers have a similar feature in their lenses or if that is even an issue.
