They made great cameras back in the day, but a SLR beats a TLR any day.
The medium format was really nice.

I always longed for a Rollei TLR, but had to settle for a Yashica, which was a darn good camera for the price. I think I bought my first Yashica from Cambridge Camera about 1965. Even used Rolleis were out of my budget range at the time.

Sad to see the big brands from my past slipping away. Wonder how Leica is faring? They were always way too expensive for me, but I did mess around with old one and resuscitate them back in the late '60s when you could buy them cheap.
I'd like to hear a German auction....................

Leica is just fine. They made the transition to digital with nary a hiccup. Without effort they retained their hold on the luxury enthusiast market. Their cameras are still beautiful and make beautiful images.

Most intriguing to me is the Monochrome model. That's right, a very expensive digital camera that only shoots B&W.

They even branched into cinema lenses. Now you cinematographers can buy, (or most likely rent) a set of very expensive primes with a red dot on them.
