Railfan Technology > Recording device for train rideDate: 07/30/22 11:50 Recording device for train ride Author: CSMudDuck Greetings, living in Colorado, I am pretty lucky with the easy proximity to live steam. I love the sounds of steam, and trains in general.
I am interested in mounting a microphone outside a train, and just letting it record the journey. I have a Rode microphone and a cheap device, but the sound quality doesn’t seem to be anything to write home about. What type of a device should I be looking for? The mic does have a windsock, but I think the root cause is my choice in cheap device. Any suggestions? Thank you!
