SEPTA-Tiptoeing Thru the....Leaves
Author: PC1073

SEPTA regional rail trains kicking up some leaves, deposited from a recent storm.

1) SEPTA 906 pushes train 6374 to its next station stop at Bethayres Station.  Note also the leased MARC coaches.
2) SEPTA 903 on train 6378 also heading to Bethayres Station, as night fall is rapidly approaching.
Enjoy,

This is an ex-Reading electrified commuter line.

Didn't know SEPTA was leasing MARC cars. Anyone know why? There are additional electric motors that SEPTA ordered. Did they launch additional express trains and come up short on coaches? Or is this simply some sort of PTC loan of cars. SEPTA I believe has multilevel cars on order - similiar to the NJT multilevels and MARC multilevels. Can anyone confirm that or add any other detail?

The SEPTA coaches replaced by the MARC cars were added to other push-pull trains to increase their length.

Yes they have multilevels on order. At least another 2 years before we see them though. from what I understand
