Old Silver Warrior
Author: TexBob

Pushing 23-years-old, BNSF C44-9W 4701 leads hot intermodal Q CHIROB6 28M at 0301 this morning, between switches at Rosenberg, TX.
Warbonnets, fake or otherwise, are an endangered species in 2020, which made the decision to postpone bedtime last night and pay my respects
to the most iconic locomotive paint sheme an easy one.

Apologies to other old warriors of different colors...

Great shot and good catch. 4701 is the last warbonnet I have seen recently, they are getting scarce.

That was one of the ones in the best shape, I see now the silver flaking off the side finally. Time and the elements march on... === === = === JLH

Great catch!
I saw one of these about a week ago or so, on a BNSF train in Riverside, I think was westbound, I was too busy working for photo or engine number, just happened to see it while driving near about Indiana and Madison St.
Might have been this one?
