Western Railroad Discussion > Dunsmuir today?

The webcam seems to be back in business for a while. But, not much in train activity. The flanger/power on the house track visible this morning seems to have moved elsewhere. Any local reports, guys?

The Z went by just now as I was shoveling off the steps, looks like D-Cam didn't catch it though.

The new trick with the D-Flanger is to run to the wye at Texum, occasionally they tie up there and return the next day. Even if there is little or no snow to move they check out all the power switches, clean them out and report status to the Dispatcher. Many of the locations are not easy to reach in snow conditions. The local power goes out quite often and causes havoc with all those things that go that way during snow season. The flanger lets the MoW crew take a better look at conditions, run-off trees, etc. The canyon up to Mott gets a good dumping of snow and the crew checks out the slide fences as well. They also spend some time clearing out the BB wye so I guess there must be some traffic from the CORP at Weed.
