They look like former Milwaukee Road mechanical reefers, too! Date: 05/19/11 21:20 Re: Next Stop Author: Coguy Was in Alamosa with Dad at the beginning of march, 8524 didn't look that good at all and they couldn't keep the engine running at that time. Nice pics

The 1100 is waybilled to the Saratoga and North Creek Railroad in Saratoga Springs, NY. Nothing showing for the 8524 yet, except that it has been interchanged to the UP. Date: 05/19/11 23:25 Re: Next Stop Author: NDHolmes Finally, 8524 gets some decent paint and they send her away... That ugly little monster seems to be on the point of every SLRG passenger train I've ridden or shot (that wasn't steam) for several years now - not sorry to see it go. Would the original poster update us in the morning if they're still in Walsenburg? Wouldn't mind getting a few parting pictures if I can get away from work (have to go in for the morning, so no Amtrak chase for me tomorrow).

Don G Date: 05/20/11 10:46 Re: Next Stop Author: pal77 Thats pretty cool back in 90 when NYSW was operating the D&H csx funded 20 b40's and the rumor back then was 10 yellow jackets and 10 lightening stripes they all came nysw which is fine with me but its cool to see how they might have looked.
Date: 05/20/11 11:16 Re: Next Stop Author: stevelv Very cool. Long live the D&H!

And maybe once the S&NC gets it, they'll put permanent lettering on it in blue.... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/20/11 11:17 by toledopatch.
