Light engines on the Coast line
Author: CPRR

Out here with the Scouts in Chatsworth, rock climbing on Stoney Point. At 1:15, two UP locomotives went north light. I have seen this before, and wondering where are they going to.

I will hazard a guess here, and suggest that they might have been a freshly serviced helper set for San Luis Obispo. San Luis hosts a two unit helper set for La Cuesta that changes from time to time. Was the flag on the fireman's side of the lead unit peeling off?

Cheers,
Jack

It's been reported on other lists that they are heading to Guadalupe, where they will pick up hoppers for storage and take them up to Idaho.

The new SLO helpers are usually ferried back and forth on the LOF67 and LOF66.

Honda is not really needed and the wye at Tangair is now useless as there is no need for it. At least the UP say's so.
