Seligman Sub 4-20
Author: howeld

Last Saturday a friend and I railfanned the Seligman sub between Williams and Winslow. Eastbound traffic was heavy and be end of day eastbound trains were being tied down waiting on crews.
1. 6883 West at Bellemont, AZ
2. 7883 East at Maine
3. We briefly explored the Crookton line change. 7048 East a few miles west of Williams.

4. 5639 east. The company who installed the wind turbines would have had to build decent roads to get equipment in. I'm guessing public access is unlikely but some new views could be possible.
5. WB train through Flagstaff
6. 7534 east at Cosnino

Thanks for sharing. I like the stretch of track just West of the Winslow terminal. You can really get full length train shots on straight track as it rolls up and down.

Oh Gawd - they installed some of those ugly turbines along the Crookton. More good views ruined.

Some nice shots overall. The overpass at Winslow is a great place in the morning (along with a cup of coffee) as long as the wind is not blowing. It's always nice if a recent snowstorm in the area covers Mt Humphreys with a nice blanket of snow.

I'm sure you saw the black ATSF bridges with heralds, over the red washes; that also makes for some nice photos

Nice shots. Would seem to be a bit boring with only GE's as power. I like the "good ole days" when EMD's and GE's (ever Alco's) added interest to the show.

You have no idea! On Clovis, Gallup and Seligman, there is an endless supply of GE motors; the only trains that frequent with EMDs are the coal trains from up north and the occasional dog moving EMD switch power.
