Does anyone remember major transcon symbols from the early 70s to mid 80s?

John Carr has an excellent pair of books on this subject that are inexpensive.
Look for carrtracks on line for more details.

I second this. Mr. Carr is a gentleman and has an extreme amount of knowledge in the area on train symbols and commodities carried.

He was extremely helpful at the time I was doing research on the same topic.
